Signs of Age
17 August 2009 - 21:47.
I finally found some... and they're real. Yes, I finally have grey hair.
Granted, they're on my chin, not in my hair. But this is the inimitable progression of age.
Maybe now that I'm going grey, I can finally get some respect and be taken seriously. Also, does this mean I have to grow up now?
Wisdom Du Jour
15 August 2009 - 09:20.
'Happiness in life is like balancing on the top of a mountain peak; it's all uphill getting there. And once you arrive, you have to be even more careful, because it's a long way down if you slip and fall."
(Today's wisdom is courtesy of J.R.R. Tolkien, paraphrased to make it understandable)
Frankly Amazed
11 August 2009 - 20:52.
For all the talk I've heard over the years of the dreaded bride-zilla, I've yet to see it out of Jeanette. I'm hopeful for next month however.
In the meantime though, plans are still being drawn up. Tonight's adventure consisted of booking the chapel; that at least is a major obstacle overcome. For guests, it'll be a good venue because there's a bunch of hotels in the immediate vicinity, as well as some other forms of entertainment. Plenty of ways to kill time, if required.
Now we need to find a venue for the reception....
Plans In The Making
02 August 2009 - 19:42.
Well, it's been 9 days since I proposed, and it's amazing how fast plans can move forward when you have two people of a (mostly) like mind working on things.
The date has been set at May 15th of next year. We have a good idea for the venue of the ceremony AND the reception, as well as the pictures (they're all close to one another). We have a rough guest list sorted out, and Jeanette has a pretty good idea what dress she'll be getting, or so I'm told. Jeanette also has a friend who is a wedding planner, and she's agreed to work with us on this as well.
The big one in my mind is also moving forward... the entertainment. We'll probably get a DJ, but there's going to be so much more. I had one idea for "alternate" entertainment, and Jeanette has finally conceded to allow it to happen. I won't say what it is just yet, but suffice it to say that there will be on part of the evening's fun and games that will be absolutely epic.
