Wondering...
23 September 2007 - 12:25 .
I was out for breakfast with a bunch of other rowers this morning. A couple of them, women both, started discussing boobs. Another woman joins in, and the conversation continues. Why is it that women can talk about boobs around other women with impunity, but as soon as men start talking about boobs, all hell breaks loose?
Can someone explain this to me please?

Maybe you're just hanging out with the wrong women... most of the ones I know have no problem with men joining or even initiating the discussion (not all, but most).Posted by Sue on 23 September 2007 - 15:26
We weren't discussing boobs... we were discussing our rowing uniforms.Posted by Renee on 24 September 2007 - 00:47
I agree with Soundy, move women I know have no issue, however, for the ones who do have problems with is, it could be because you don't have them. Just a thought.Posted by Andrew on 24 September 2007 - 11:35
Let sleeping dogs lay, my friend. I've had this experience myself and Ilearned the heard way that you just gotta shut your mouth, unless someone asks you for your opinion specifically.I am told that men sexualize these kinds of conversations, sometimes even without meaning to do so. I think Sue's correction bears that out.
Evidently, we are men, and we don't know any better. Fair enough. My best advice is to talk about hockey. Pretty much constantly.

Hmmm... I guess me and my friends are in a different camp. We have no problem talking about boobs, or men talking about boobs. Boobies are fun, and why shouldn't everyone talk about them?Just my two cents ;)
