I had to make a quick pit stop the other day at a gas station. That in itself is probably not of any serious interest to anyone (at least I hope it isn't).But I was shocked that the bathroom at the gas station. It's the station on Powell St. between Raymur and Glen in Vancouver. It was lit by a true blacklight. Not a white light in the place, only the black light.
Ummm... wtf? Are they trying to create mood lighting for the addicts in the neighbourhood?

blacklights make it harder to see veins -- so it's almost impossible to shoot up with only blue or blacklight illumination. :)Posted by Soundy on 06 July 2008 - 23:57
Yeah, what Donna said.Check out the Petro Canada at Hastings and Renfrew sometime: they have a mix of one blue and one purple tube in their fixture... it's not so bad in itself, but the whole world looks an orangey-yellow when you come out.

Is it really? I had no idea that was the case. And it would also explain why they have the blacklight in the first place.
