It's Already Happening

I was in a drug store the other day (Thursday to be exact). And guess what I saw?Christmas decorations. Mother-fucking Christmas decorations. On October 2nd.
Are you serious?!? We haven't even gotten close to Halloween, and you're putting out the bloody lights and decorations? Give me a break.
So my question to you is.... how early is too early for Christmas decs?

Soon, even Jan.2 won't be too early...Posted by Jeremy on 04 October 2008 - 12:30
And you know Soundy, that's not a bad thing... if you run a Christmas store. However, most places aren't Chritmas stores.Posted by Sue on 04 October 2008 - 12:47
In my opinion, Christmas decorations come out on December 1. For commercial purposes, I can accept November 1. After all, I typically like to finish my shopping by November 30 to avoid mall mayhem.I got a Christmas is coming reminder email from a consignment store that sells kids toys... on SEPTEMBER 10. I've decided to never shop from them again.

Well, school supplies come out at the beginning of July, a full 2 months ahead of September, Halloween costumes went on sale here mid-September and yes about a week ago I saw some Christmas decorations/cards out for sale. I personally think it's a great idea for those who like to get their shopping done early or for those who aren't as financially fortunate who need to do it month by month. I know people who start their shopping in Jan or Feb for the following Christmas. To each their own.Posted by Renee on 06 October 2008 - 16:16
If its before Halloween, its too early...I love Christmas but I make a point of not putting anything out until at least December 1st...but I start shopping (gifts not decorations)early if I can. That being said...I buy loads on Boxing Day to get the deals for the following Chirstmas.

Sue: Good thinking... if they know about your reasons. Otherwise, will they notice?Nettie: back to school starts early, yes. But back to school day doesn't quite carry the same meaning as Christmas, does it? (Although I imagine parents may feel differently)
