I Don't....

30 July 2008 - 16:54.

Courtesy of Donna, this is one of the funniest video's I've seen in a while. Which either speaks to my state of mind, or lack of a social life - take your pick.

This video (after the jump) is especially NSFW. You have been warned. But wait! There's more!

On a Lighter Note

28 July 2008 - 13:24.

Saw this one this morning. This type of office environment might actually get me to give up working for myself, and start punching a clock again. Video after the jump... But wait! There's more!

An Open Letter

To the person who wrote what I feel are disparaging remarks about me on their blog... the same person whom I once considered a friend... this is for you. But wait! There's more!

On Cell Phones

24 July 2008 - 17:16.

So the latest generation of iPhone has been out in Canada for a few weeks now. And you know what? I really don't give a shit. I didn't buy one, I didn't stand in line for one, and I don't intend to get one. Currently I'm using a Blackberry Pearl, and I hate it. The typing sucks, the trackball jumps, and the number of applications available to make it do what I want are woefully lacking. It's also been known to spontaneously reboot itself.

But I'm sticking with it. At least till the end of this year, and possibly into the beginning of next year. Sure, there are other phones out there that will do things more to my liking. The HTC P4000 comes to mind, for one. But I'm waiting for 2 developments to mature and start bearing fruit. But wait! There's more!

Okay, now that we've all had our jollies about the whole 19-year old and cake thing, the truth of the matter is that it wasn't that bad at all.

In fact, I was out of town this last weekend, and while away I attended the 19th-birthday drunk-fest of an acquaintance's daughter. So after a few shots and beers at a bar, we all (about 10 of us) went back to the home of said birthday girl to continue drinking. We did.

And at 2:30 am when the cake was finally brought out and cu, there we were... birthday girl and I... holding cakes and looking at one another like Wyatt Earp and Ike Clanton at the O.K. Corral.

She drew first. I lost.

Few things are better....

OCD du Jour

08 July 2008 - 09:44.

I'm back to obsessing about getting in a ride for the Iron Butt Association. One of my work clients is in Mission, and I've been shocked lately at the ease with which I'm able to cover that trip. I don't even feel it when I'm done the ride.

I've been thinking about this since I tried the last time, and failed due to a mechanical issue, and now I'm back to thinking about it again. A lot. Blaine WA out to Bozeman MT, then turn around and come back to a town called Riverbend, also in Montana. According to Google Maps, it should take about 15 hours of actual riding time to do that (if I follow the speed limit the whole way....). Sleep for a few hours at the most convenient (read: cheapest) motel I can find, then come back to Blaine. Total distance: 1566 miles.

At 70 MPH (the speed limit on much of the US interstate system), it would take just under 21.5 hours of riding to pull this off. And the rules allow for 36 hours. I'm really not seeing a problem here..... I gotta go for it.

I wonder if...

06 July 2008 - 21:30.

I had to make a quick pit stop the other day at a gas station. That in itself is probably not of any serious interest to anyone (at least I hope it isn't).

But I was shocked that the bathroom at the gas station. It's the station on Powell St. between Raymur and Glen in Vancouver. It was lit by a true blacklight. Not a white light in the place, only the black light.

Ummm... wtf? Are they trying to create mood lighting for the addicts in the neighbourhood?

Happy Birthday

01 July 2008 - 06:46.

I sometimes wonder whether we as Canadians are less patriotic than our neighbours to the south. But then I go open another beer, and eventually I just stop thinking about it.

Have a safe Canada Day everyone.
